Most people think that when they get Pain, it's just going to go away on its own. That they’ll wake up one morning and like “magic”, it’ll be as if the pain never happened… But then 6 months later you’re still living with the pain - often even worse than it was when it came on.
Physical Therapy At any point in your life, your primary goal may be to restore health and function. This can be from an injury, an illness, a prolonged period of inactivity and deconditioning, or any number of other reasons. Physical therapy is a medical, hands-on approach to relieving pain and restoring function. Physical therapists are medical experts in musculoskeletal and neurological conditions and work closely with physicians. Our Doctors of Physical Therapy evaluate your movement patterns; identify the cause of your pain, and work to eliminate it. While every patient’s condition and pain is unique, your physical therapist will use a variety of gentle hands-on techniques, exercises, and equipment to relieve pain quickly and restore your function to optimum levels. The overall goal is to restore pain-free mobility and function and to prevent the injury or pain from recurring.
Does That Sound Like You? Another scenario we see all the time in our Physical Therapy Clinic is when people go to the Doctors, and the Doctor tells them to rest and “try these painkillers” and “see how it goes”.
But this is rarely ever the best advice and often 6 weeks later, they end up going back to the Doctor again because it hasn’t got any better. Worse, they’re often given yet another prescription of even stronger pills, and advised MORE rest. This is madness and explains why so many people aged 50+ are suffering with chronic pain.
Has This Type of Thing Happened to You? Why else does pain last longer than it should do? Well, it’s easy to get confused because you’ve been told different things, by different people.
Maybe you think your pain was caused by doing something - like lifting or sleeping awkwardly - but really it was caused by years and years of poor posture that caused the muscles to become weak and the lifting of the awkward sleeping position was just the EFFECT of that or perhaps you've been injured and you're in recovery.
Many people just end up accepting it as ‘part of life’ - as if it’s normal, and ‘just the way it is’. If that’s happening to you, you’re not alone - and we hear this type of thing all the time.
And when it comes to living with any pain, everybody we see wants to know....

Here are some of the amazing programs we offer: Dry Needling Dry needling is a technique physical therapists use (where allowed by state law) for the treatment of pain and movement impairments. The technique uses a "dry"needle, one without medication or injection, inserted through the skin into areas of the muscle. Other terms commonly used to describe dry needling, include trigger point dry needling, and intramuscular manual therapy. Dry needling is not acupuncture, a practice based on traditional Chinese medicine and performed by acupuncturists. Dry needling is a part of modern Western medicine principles, and supported by research
Blood Flow Restriction Training This program is designed to allow patients/clients to utilize our BFR bands in our clinic but the research shows that 3-4 times a week of using BFR gives you the maximum benefit and potential for strength gain with these devices. A lot of times patients are only coming in 1-2x a week for therapy and this extra session will allow for them to get the additional 1-2x per week to train with these. These would be administered by our Exercise Specialists under the direction of the treating physical therapist as far as the protocol that the patient is to be using.
Functional Resiliency Program This program is designed for patients after their course of therapy has ended that would like to have a physical therapist guided approach to decreasing their risk of injury going forward. The patient would commit to 6 months and would come and meet with a therapist (45 minute 1st session, 30 minutes in subsequent sessions) to test measures applicable to the patient (we have a Senior Functional Movement Assessment that we do for our patients >60 years old) to assess where their functional level is at during that point in time. Then we design an exercise program for them to do at home, at their gym, or wherever they exercise to keep them physically active and progressing their strength and ability level to help prevent injuries from occurring.
Gym Membership This program is designed for a few reasons. First and foremost, this is available to anyone that wants to come in and workout at our facility. They must call and reserve a time so we do not have too many people in the gym at one time and to make sure that equipment is available for the therapist to use during their treatment. This is also designed as an adjunct for therapy. With the therapy cap, some of our patients can reach that pretty quickly. What this allows is for a patient to come more than their weekly scheduled sessions with a therapist to do their exercises in the clinic with the equipment and setting that they were using with their therapist without under the supervision of the therapist. This way they are able to keep up with their exercises and more quickly progress strengthening, balance, and neuromuscular re-education.
Guided Gym Membership This program includes the gym membership but also includes a 30-minute session of personal training with one of our exercise specialists. This allows the client to have guidance with their exercises and have a “trainer” develop new exercises for the patient and to make sure they are safe while they are trying to improve their strength, endurance, balance, and functional ability.
